Ympress is a high strength steel plate with excellent formability and weldability, produced by TMCP (Thermal Mechanical Control Process)
Application
Ympress combines high strength with excellent formability and weldability. It is used in applications such :
• Earth Moving Vehicles
• Large Cranes / Mobile Cranes
• Telescopic Booms
In these applications the high strength of steel is used to save weight and increase the load bearing capacity.
Fabrication
The low carbon equivalent of Ympress makes it readily weldable and permits the use of high welding speeds. There is no need for pre-or post-welding treatment.
Adjacent to the weld a narrow Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) with a slightly decreased hardness is produced, however, with standard welding techniques this has no practical significance.
Tensile tests taken transverse to the weld show the same tensile strength as the parent material.
Stress relieving should be done in temperature ranges of 980° - 1080° F. Heating above this range reduces strength and should be avoided.

3CR12 is a particularly recommended for use on moderately aggressive environments found in the construction, industrial, marine, mining and mineral
processing fields. It provides a cost effective solution to corrosion, oxidation and corrosion/abrasion problems in a wide range of environments. Typical examples include:
Like other chromium stainless steel, 3CR12 has useful strength at temperature about 600oC. This ele vated temperature strength is significantly higher than that of plain-carbon steels. Hot working can be carried out at 700ºC - 800ºC without significantly affecting subsequent mechanical properties. Above 850ºC, 3CR12 behaves superplastically due to the fine grained duplex microstructure.

Durinox™ is developed mainly for the agricultural industries where corrosion and abrasion are often the major source of cost and quality problems. It is also often the case that many of the plants in agricultural industries were originally designed with carbon steels because of its low cost. In many cases, this proved a false
economy, since carbon steel performs poorly against corrosion and abrasion.
Durinox™ stainless steels is an excellent choice for agricultural industries as it is both chemically inert in contact with food and produce and also biologically inert which reduce the risk of micro-organism colony growth.
Durinox™ offers the following benefits compared to austenitic stainless steels and carbon steel:
Similar thermal expansion to carbon steel and lower compared to austenitic stainless steels, and there- fore it distort less when heated
Thermal conductivity that is much higher than austenitic stainless steels
High temperature oxidation resistance, they are less prone to scaling
Its mechanical properties are very similar to carbon steel making it easy to cut and work without the need of specialized tools. They are also less prone to spring back compared austenitic stainless steels
It is not prone to stress corrosion cracking
They can be used in temperatures to up to 600°C which is far better than carbon steel and is more than sufficient for most agricultural industries
